Barry Mitchell is a fly fishing and fly casting instructor based in Morpeth, Northumberland. He's fished the local rivers and stillwaters for over 45 years and has a wide range of experience in game angling. He runs a guiding service and provides fly fishing and fly casting tuition for all abilities, from those total beginners looking for an introduction to the sport to more experienced fly fishers looking to try something new.
Barry is a qualified member of the Game Angling Instructors' Association (GAIA) for both single-handed and double-handed fly casting. He's recently qualified with FFI THCI qualifications, too. We've met Barry at competitive fly fishing events at Thrunton Long Crag Fishery where he's acted as a steward, providing support and encouragement to the youngsters competing - he's a really nice chap.
